WHAT TO PACK
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These are a few tips on what you might want to bring to make your Crop Time weekend a fun, relaxing experience. These are just ideas, not requirements. These retreats are for everyone, whether you are a seriously addicted scrapper who wants to bring all her tools but just can't fit them in her tote (this is me!), an adventurous cropper who wants to try all the latest and greatest gadgets, a creatively challenged scrapper looking for a fresh idea, or a beginner with a shoebox of pictures.
Comfortable clothing - Bring a light sweatshirt just in case the room temperature is cooler than you like. Jammies and slippers are perfect for late night scrapping with the girls! The floor in the crop room is tile, so it may be cold on your feet... I know I'll have my fluffy feet on! Also Saturday, the Aurora Day Spa will be in our room offering Chair Massages, you'll want to have a short sleeve shirt on, or a shirt that the sleeves can be rolled up.
Swim Suit - there is an indoor heated pool, whirlpool and sauna.
Some like a portable shelf to make the most of their cropping space. Stackable cooling racks are great for this. If you don't have one in your kitchen cupboard, WalMart has some!
Seat cushion - although they are cushioned chairs, an chair can get uncomfortable by day 2.
Craft Light - Although the room has great lighting, if you have a craft light you may want to bring it along.
Camera - take lots of pictures of your new friends and their layouts! Friday night I will be taking photos, and by Saturday you will each receive copies to Scrap, which will be one of the many contest categories.
Cash / Checkbook / Credit - shop with our vendors or take classes. Not all of our vendors take credit card, but there is an ATM at the hotel.
If you plan on getting a chair massage, the cost is $1 per minute, the average massage is 10 minutes or longer.
Tag-along drink holder-this is a great idea if you are going to have drinks in your cropping area.
Snacks and drinks - if you would like to bring munchies and your favorite drinks please feel free.
SCRAPBOOK SUPPLIES
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Power Scrappin' Tips…… Take the time to PREPLAN your pages at home and you will spend more time at the Crop completing pages. How many times have you gone scrapbooking and spent half the time staring at your pictures trying to come up with the perfect layout? Here are some tips to help in your planning….
Purchase 2 gallon freezer bags at the grocery store-12x12 paper will fit perfectly in these.
Sort all the pictures you might want to scrap during the weekend and make notes of any journaling you might want to include.
Scraplift an idea that you like in a magazine, copy or cut out the idea and slip it into your 12x12 bag.
In each freezer bag, put the pictures and the idea for the layout you want to complete. Pull any paper or supplies for that page and put them in the bag. A specific template or tool, stickers, embellishment-everything you will use on that layout.
You can even take your bags shopping with you - line them up on a crop table at the store and pick out just what you need to finish each layout. Then fill your "layout bags"! You now have everything you need for the layout in one place! !
Always pack a few extras…tags, embellishments, neutral shades of paper, etc.
There will be 3 Vendors set up, Stacey Wiszowaty with Close to my Heart, Michelle Hansen with TLC and Scrapbook Girl, also Me - I'll have products from A.C.Bailey and Memory-Works. Here are just a couple of classes to be offered. The Mickey Acrylic Album, and a Scrapbook Purse and Checkbook cover. For the purse there will be a choice of papers, since a purse is a personal accessory. Also, the words will be customized for each purse, if you choose to have any at all. Not pictured: A mother's day acrylic frame. There is also a great Candle stamping class offered by Stacey... and there's more to come!
